The Pleiades (M45), or "Seven Sisters," is a prominent, young open star cluster in Taurus, located roughly 440–450 light-years away. Containing over 1,000 confirmed members (likely >3,000 in its wider complex), the cluster is dominated by hot, luminous blue B-type stars aged ~100–125 million years, making it an excellent subject for studying stellar evolution and star formation.
