SH2 132 - Lion Nebula
October 2025
Sh2-132, widely known as the Lion Nebula, is a faint, large emission nebula situated 10,000–12,000 light-years away on the border of Cepheus and Lacerta. It is a rich HII region powered by intense UV radiation from massive Wolf-Rayet stars (notably HD 211564 and WR 153), causing hydrogen and oxygen gas to ionize and glow.
